Udaipur - the city of lakes
Was the first stop this year post the first covid wave and truly a remarkable first stop. We (my sister and I) used this as a staycation and fully immersed in enjoying the uniqueness of the services of the Oberoi and Trident group of hotels.
Given the proximity of distance between the Udaivillas and Trident. We decided to split our 2 night stay between these two and turned out to be the wisest decision.
At the Trident we had the view of Lake Pichola from our room. The trident is spread in a few acres of lush greenery which was calming to the eyes.
Warm during the afternoon in the month of January and pleasant cold at night. It was clearly a very welcoming weather.
The courteous staff and the tastefully done interiors at the Trident was a respite from the year long stay at home.
We were privileged enough to enjoy the stunning sunset at Jagmandir along with the freshest lemon soda. Jagmandir palace is centred right in the middle of Lake Pichola and can be reached by boat. I would recommend staying longer and enjoying the dinner at the palace. A little expensive but worth the experience.
The highlight of the trip was the boat ride at night from the Jagmandir Palace to our private Oberoi Jetty. We enjoyed the gorgeous night of the city palace, Taj Lake Palace and the Udaivillas. The sky was lit.
After a wonderful day and night at Trident we moved to our next much awaited stay.
The opulent Udaivillas which needs no introduction.
We had a personal tour of the property which left us spell bound. The intricate architecture, epitomised a perfect blend of the Mughal and the Mewar heritage.
The highlight of the stay was the 5 course meal which the staff curated for us.
The sumptuous meal and the lake view at night, it was beauty beyond words.
And not to forget the Rajasthani folk music, made the evening one of the most memorable for us.
Dancing to the tunes of chaap tilak and enjoying the traditional Rajasthani thali, was a pure delight.
As they say all good things come to an end. So here we ended our third trip to Udaipur but it rejuvenated us beyond words and we realised the necessity of enjoying this journey of life and not postpone it to a later date.
How did you like the post?
