Sri Ram Tirath Temple

The Sri Ram Tirath Temple is another well-liked activity in Amritsar. This Hindu temple, which is about 12 kilometers west of the city center, marks the birthplace of Lava and Kusha, the twin brothers of the Ramayana epic's protagonist Rama and his wife Sita. The statue of Valmiki, the author of the Ramayana, is the main draw of this cluster of temples. It's a sight to behold, standing eight feet tall and covered in over 800 kg of gold. Additionally, a library of Sanskrit books, a communal hall with seating for 5,000 worshippers, and an illuminating museum are all visible. Hot tip: The Sri Ram Tirath Temple's annual five-day celebration, which takes place approximately two weeks following Diwali, is the perfect time to attend. It draws about 100,000 pilgrims who light special lamps made of wheat and ghee and take ritual baths in the water tank.
