Museum of Antigua and Barbuda

To learn more about the history of these stunning islands, head to the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda. You won't need to stay long here. One room has all of the exhibits, which span a variety of subjects including the geological history of the island, colonial history, slavery, archeology, sports, and political independence in 1981. A full-scale recreation of an Arawak home, pottery, weaving, tools, and exhibitions on the many island ecosystems are among the highlights. In St. John's, the museum is housed in the former courthouse from the 18th century.
