These molecules contain hydrophobic (water-insoluble) part such as fatty acid or a rather long chain carbon group fatty alcohol and it is an interior part.

The molecule also contains a hydrophilic (water-soluble) group such as  or a sulfo group and it is an exterior part.

The hydrophobic part attaches itself to fiber and to dirt particle and the hydrophilic part attaches to water.

Option A is correct.
