US Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed in New Delhi on Tuesday evening for his first visit to India, where he will meet with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The discussions were scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.  He will meet with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 4.30 pm. Blinken's visit to New Delhi is intended to reaffirm the US commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with India, according to the US State Department.  The talks would cover a wide range of topics, including Afghanistan, the Indo-Pacific, Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, bilateral, regional, COVID-19, and global events, according to ANI. Blinken is the third member of US President Joe Biden's administration to visit Delhi. In March, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin paid a visit, while Special Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry paid a visit in April.  The US Secretary of State will spend about 20 hours at the nation's capital. He is due to fly to Kuwait at 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday as part of his two-nation tour.
