According to an official document, the Union Home Ministry has granted security clearance to Jet Airways, which plans to resume commercial flying operations in the coming months. Jet Airways is now promoted by the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium. Naresh Goyal owned the airline in its previous incarnation, and the last flight occurred on April 17, 2019. Last Thursday, the airline flew a test flight to and from Hyderabad International Airport in order to get an air operator certificate. The Civil Aviation Ministry told the airline on May 6 that the Union Home Ministry had granted the airline security clearance. PTI obtained a copy of the letter, which stated: "directed to refer to your application… to convey security clearance for change in shareholding pattern of the company/firm, for scheduled operator permit, on the basis of security clearance received from the Ministry of Home Affairs".
