UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has approved 3,000 visas for young professionals from India to work in the UK each year, hours after meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 Summit. The UK-India Migration and Mobility Partnership, which was agreed to last year, was cited by the British government as the reason why India is the first visa-national country to benefit from such a programme. The UK Prime Minister's Office tweeted, "Today the UK-India Young Professionals Scheme was confirmed, offering 3,000 places to 18-30-year-old degree educated Indian nationals to come to the UK to live and work for up to two years."  Sunak had a brief encounter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bali, Indonesia, at the 17th G20 Summit. This was their first meeting since the first British prime minister of Indian descent took office last month.
