Three people were killed and numerous others were injured in a bomb blast at a storage facility in Bengaluru's New Tharagupet neighbourhood earlier today (September 23). "Two people killed, three others injured in a blast at a firecracker storage facility in New Tharagupet area of Bengaluru earlier today," DCP (South) Harish Pandey informed ANI. According to multiple media reports, the explosion occurred in a transport godown near to a puncture shop, and at least three persons were killed. The official also stated that the explosion was caused by an 'unstable chemical' that was part of an industrial shipment. "The origin of the blast is being investigated. It was neither a cylinder blast nor cracker blast or a blast caused by a short circuit. There were no pieces of compressors also," PTI cited Pandey in their report. According to him, forensic experts will give their assessment on the reason for the explosion. He further claimed that 60 boxes of the 'unstable explosive' remained in the godown. The consignment's source and owner are also being probed.
