Thiruvananthapuram's cinemas, theaters, gyms, and swimming pools will be temporarily closed as the state capital's positivity rate soared to 49 percent, far higher than the national average of 20.75 percent. This means that one out of every two people who are tested is positive. Thiruvananthapuram currently prohibits social, cultural, political, religious, or public meetings. Weddings and funerals are limited to a maximum of 20 individuals. These safeguards, on the other hand, have been in place since last week. Except for students in their final year of college in classes 10 and 12, all students will take online classes. Schools can also elect to stop physical education classes if attendance falls below 40% or if covid clusters appear. The district of Ernakulam had the most cases (4,443), followed by Thiruvananthapuram (3,256), and Kozhikode (2,979).
