The Delhi administration determined today in a meeting that schools, colleges, and coaching institutes can reopen on Monday. Gyms, swimming pools, and spas were also authorized to reopen next week by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority, or DDMA. The night curfew has been shortened by an hour, and it now runs from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Previously, the night curfew began at 10 p.m. Schools can reopen in stages, with classes 9 to 12 starting on February 7, and teachers who haven't been vaccinated aren't allowed to teach. Classes for children in kindergarten through eighth grade will resume on February 14, according to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. People driving cars alone do not need to wear masks, and offices can work with 100% attendance. The decision by the national capital to relax restrictions and reopen schools and colleges comes a day after the center announced that COVID-19 instances and positivity rates, or the number of persons infected per 100 tests, have begun to decline.
