SC reimposes the construction ban in Delhi

Following a review of the air quality in Delhi, the Supreme Court reimposed the construction ban on Wednesday. Plumbing, interior decoration, electrical work, and carpentry are examples of non-polluting building operations that can continue. The Supreme Court also ordered states to use funds collected as a cess under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1996, to assist construction workers who would lose their jobs as a result of the prohibition.
