After a cloudy morning, rain pelted several areas of Delhi this afternoon, and the weather service predicted that four days of rain would cause the temperature to drop by nine to ten degrees below average. For more than a week, the national capital area has had strong gusts that have provided relief from the heat. The downpour swamped the roads, forcing commuters to seek cover. Lajpat Nagar, ITO, Lodhi Road, Lutyens' Delhi, and Noida all reported receiving a lot of rain. In some regions, the rain also caused waterlogging, and in stretches between Noida and Delhi, ITO, and other places, traffic slowed to a standstill. The highest temperature in Delhi dropped to 28.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday due to light rain, which is 10 degrees below the season's normal and the lowest reading for the month since April 4, 2015, according to the India Meteorological Department. Almost all states are predicted to see rain during the next four days, according to the IMD today.
