This evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who said India is "ready to contribute in any way to peace efforts." PM Modi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met for 40 minutes amid international pressure on India to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In the last two weeks, the Prime Minister has not officially met any other visiting Ministers, including those from the United Kingdom, China, Austria, Greece, and Mexico. PM Modi called for a stop to violence as Mr Lavrov briefed him on the situation in Ukraine, including peace talks, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.
