On March 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day visit to Gujarat by holding a large nine-kilometer roadshow from Ahmedabad airport to the BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar. As the Prime Minister's convoy goes along the route, an estimated four lakh people are anticipated to attend. This is the first roadshow after the BJP's victory in the Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur Assembly elections on March 10. Mr. Modi will attend roadshows organized by the State BJP unit, which are expected to attract several lakh people and feature over 1,000 artistes performing live along the way. During the roadshow, workers and representatives from various NGOs, voluntary organizations, and Mr. Modi's supporters will be present at predetermined locations. The tour will end on March 11 at the State BJP headquarters between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, where the Prime Minister will meet with top State BJP officials to assess preparations for the Assembly elections later this year.
