Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that India has transformed into a nation of job creators rather than job seekers, celebrating a recent spike in start-ups valued at over a billion dollars. Mr. Modi, speaking to the country on his monthly 'Mann Ki Baat' radio show, reminded listeners that the pandemic is still underway and asked people to follow safety precautions. “Never forget that coronavirus is not gone yet. It is the responsibility of us all to continue to take necessary precautions,” he stated. Mr. Modi chatted with a young man called Mayur Patil who had created air filter technology to cut pollution while boosting car efficiency, adding that Indian youth start-ups were solving global problems. They discovered that after installing it in 10 buses of the regional transportation business in 2017-18, fuel economy increased by 10% and emissions decreased by 40%. The patent was approved this year, and Mayur and three of his pals earned a 90-lakh grant from the NITI Aayog's Atal New India Challenge, allowing them to construct a facility to mass-produce the air filters.
