Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the officials to stay alert and watchful as Covid-19 cases are on a rise in various parts of the country. A high level meeting took place, which comes after the number of Omicron cases in India has touched the 300 mark.  "In view of the new variant, we should be Satark and Saavdhan. The fight against the pandemic is not over and the need for continued adherence to COVID safe behaviour is of paramount importance even today," PM stated. PM Modi also said that the Centre should work in sequence with the states and help them in proper management. He also said that the need for the health systems at the district levels should be made capable of meeting any challenge that the new variant poses. He also emphasized on the need of having fully functional oxygen-supply equipment in states.
