When President Droupadi Murmu travels to an official event outside of Gurugram today, there won't be any traffic restrictions, the city's government in Haryana announced yesterday.

On Wednesday morning, the police announced that there will be a six-hour traffic restriction on the Delhi-Jaipur route. President Murmu will attend a national conference for women at the Om Shanti Retreat Centre, which lies near the Delhi-Jaipur route. The 28-acre retreat in Gurugram is administered by the Brahma Kumaris, a female-led spiritual group that is located approximately 40 kilometres from the city centre. The Gurugram government claimed that alternate plans had been prepared to ensure tomorrow's seamless operation of the Delhi-Jaipur route. They said that traffic on the highway is not stopped. The traffic police warned that there would be minor delays at certain highway crossroads in order to ensure the President's cavalcade passes safely. They also said they would station personnel at busy intersections to control traffic.
