A new coronavirus strain is spreading in the United Kingdom, according to health officials. They claim that this mutant is 10% more transmissible than the Omicron BA.2 sub-variant. BA.2 has been declared the most contagious of all COVID-19 variations thus far. The recently discovered XE variation is a "recombinant" mutation of the BA.1 and BA.2 Omicron strains. According to preliminary research, the XE strain has a growth rate of 9.8% higher than BA.2, commonly known as the stealth variety due to its ability to elude detection, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSCA).
