Mumbai reports 490 new Covid-19 cases

On a day when Maharashtra registered the largest single-day surge in 48 days with 1,201 new Covid cases, Mumbai reported 490 new cases. The number of people in the city increased by more than 160 over the previous day, although no one died as a result of the sickness. In the state, however, eight new Covid deaths have been documented. On Monday, the city reported 204 Covid cases and 327 on Tuesday. Today, no new cases of the Omicron strain have been reported in the state. So far, 65 instances of the fast-spreading type have been discovered across the state. A negative RT PCR test result resulted in the discharge of 35 of them. With the new instances, the total number of infections in Mumbai has risen to 7,68,148, while the total number of deaths has risen to 16,366, according to an official. In the last 24 hours, 45,014 tests were performed, bringing the total number of tests in the city to 1,32,91,717.
