The recognition of Modhera, a community in Gujarat's Mehsana district famous for its Sun Temple, as India's first solar-powered village by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 9 will be a significant step toward the widespread use of renewable energy. Along the Pushpavati River in Modhera is where you may find the Sun Temple. Around 1026–1027, Bhima–I of the Chalukya dynasty constructed it. The Gujarat government announced in a series of tweets that more than 1,000 solar panels have been installed on village homes, giving the residents access to electricity every day. Significantly, they will get solar electricity for free. As part of the reconstruction, the temple grounds now have historical illumination. Visitors can view the lighting at the temple between the hours of 6 and 10 pm. The 3-D projector will be in operation every evening.
