Link your PAN and Aadhaar before 31st March

If you do not link your Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Aadhaar within two days, you will be charged a penalty of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. The deadline for completing this exercise is March 31. If you miss this deadline but complete the seeding procedure within three months – that is, by June 30, 2022 – the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to levy a fine of Rs 500. If you are unable to do so, you will be fined twice as much. Furthermore, if the connection process is not completed by March 31, 2022, your PAN will become inactive. According to the tax department, after paying the penalty penalties of Rs 500 or Rs 1,000, as applicable, you can reactivate your PAN.
