On Saturday, the Karnataka government eased a few Covid-19 restrictions imposed in the first week of January in response to rising instances, and stated that the state's night curfew will be lifted on Monday (January 31). In the state, offline classes will also resume beginning Monday. Despite an increase in cases over the last 15 days, the decision was made due to an increased recovery rate and hospitalization remained under control. Hotels, bars, pubs, and clubs can now operate at full capacity, as compared to the previous 50 percent limit. The ban on public gatherings, demonstrations, and protests will be maintained. The state has increased the number of people attending marriages allowed at venues from 200 to 300. Meanwhile, movie theaters, gyms, and swimming pools will be operating at half-capacity.
