India reports 44,111 new Covid-19 cases

In the previous 24 hours, India has reported 44,111 new cases. Since six days, there have been less than 50,000 daily new cases recorded. In India, the number of current cases has been steadily decreasing. After 97 days, the country's Active Caseload stands at 4,95,533, less than 5 lakh. The number of active cases has dropped by 14,104 in the last 24 hours, accounting for only 1.62 percent of the country's total Positive Cases. For the 51st day in a row, India's Daily Recoveries have outnumbered the Daily New Cases, indicating that more people are recovering from COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, there have been 57,477 recoveries. In comparison to daily new cases, more than 13,000 (13,366) recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours. Out of the 2,96,05,779 people who have been infected since the start of the pandemic, 2,96,05,779 have recovered from COVID-19, with 57,477 patients recovering in the last 24 hours. This results in an overall recovery rate of 97.06 percent, which is on the rise. In the last 24 hours, a total of 18,76,036 tests were conducted around the country.  India has already done over 41.64 crore (41,64,16,463) tests in total. While testing capacity has been increased across the country, there has been a steady decline in weekly case positivity. Today, the Weekly Positivity Rate is 2.50 percent, while the Daily Positivity Rate is 2.35 percent. For the past 26 days, the daily positivity rate has stayed less than 5 percent.
