India reports 39,796 new Covid-19 cases

In the past 24 hours, India has reported 39,796 new cases. Since eight days, fewer than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported. In India, the number of active cases has been steadily decreasing. The current Active Caseload in the country is 4,82,071. The number of active cases accounts for only 1.58 percent of the country's total Positive Cases. India's Daily Recoveries have now outnumbered the Daily New Cases for 53 days, indicating that more people are recovering from COVID-19 infection. In the last 24 hours, 42,352 recoveries have been recorded. Out of the total people who have been infected since the start of the pandemic, 2,97,00,430 have recovered from COVID-19, with 42,352 patients recovering in the last 24 hours. This results in an overall recovery rate of 97.11 percent, which is on the rise. India has already performed around 41.97 crore tests in total. While testing capacity has been increased across the country, there has been a steady decline in weekly case positivity. The Weekly Positivity Rate is 2.40 percent today, while the Daily Positivity Rate is 2.61 percent. For the past 28 days, the daily positivity rate has stayed less than 5 percent.
