India reports 39,742 new Covid-19 cases and 39,972 recoveries

In the previous 24 hours, India has reported 39,742 new cases. For the past twenty-eight days, less than 50,000 Daily New Cases have been reported. Today, India's Active Caseload stands at 4,08,212, accounting for 1.30 percent of the country's total Positive Cases. Out of the total people who have been infected since the start of the pandemic, 3,05,43,138 have recovered from COVID-19, with 39,972 patients recovering in the last 24 hours. This equates to a 97.36 percent total recovery rate. In the last 24 hours, a total of 17,18,756 tests were conducted around the country. India has already done around 45.62 crore (45,62,89,567) tests in total.

While testing capacity has been increased across the country, the Weekly Positivity Rate is now 2.24 percent, and the Daily Positivity Rate is now 2.31 percent. For 34 days in a row, the daily positivity rate has been less than 3 percent, and for 48 days in a row, it has been less than 5 percent.
