Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged a "shift in fundamental mindset to benefit humanity as a whole" as India took the G20 leadership. According to PM Modi, India's one-year G20 presidency would be "inclusive, ambitious, decisive, and action-oriented," and it will promote open dialogue about reducing the risks posed by WMD and boosting international security. With a focus on counterterrorism and "unity" in addressing global concerns like the economic recession and climate crises, India today assumed the G20 leadership. Over the course of the next year, India will host up to 200 meetings, with the first one taking place this week in Udaipur. In September 2023, New Delhi will host the G20 Summit. One week from now, 100 monuments throughout the country, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites, will be lit with the G20 logo.
