On Tuesday, India and China decided to hold the next round of the Senior Commanders meeting as soon as possible in order to achieve total disengagement from all contention points in eastern Ladakh and restore normalcy in bilateral relations. At a meeting convened under the auspices of the Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs, the two parties discussed the situation in eastern Ladakh. In a statement, the External Affairs Ministry claimed, "The two sides exchanged views on the current situation along the LAC in the Western Sector in Eastern Ladakh."
