IBM and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), the operator of Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB/BLR Airport), have signed a 10-year agreement in which IBM and its spin-off Kyndryl will provide IT solutions to create a "Airport in a Box" platform to improve passenger experience at the airport. BLR Airport has a mandate to become nimble and scalable by developing a cost-competitive technology and operations environment to enhance its agility and operational flexibility to meet future growth in passenger traffic as one of the fastest-growing airports in the world. BIAL has chosen IBM Global Business Services, IBM hybrid cloud capabilities, and Kyndryl to design and execute a next-generation architecture with a resilient and dynamic delivery strategy to meet this aim, according to an IBM press statement.

BIAL would be able to increase staff productivity, make better use of IT assets, and cut expenses through better inventory control and incident management with the new platform. IBM may duplicate the ‘Airport in a Box' platform for global travel once it is fully operational at BIAL.
