Gujarat Elections: The second and final phase of voting is taking place today

The second phase of the important Assembly elections in the BJP stronghold in Gujarat, which spans 93 seats in central and northern Gujarat, is taking place today. This election is a three-way contest between the Aam Aadmi Party, the Congress, and the governing BJP. Among those who voted early this morning were Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The Prime Minister urged citizens to cast votes in a media interview, thanking the Election Commission for the way the elections were handled. Chief Minister Patel also urged the populace to vote in the election. Today in Ahmedabad, Home Minister Amit Shah also voted in the election. Over 833 candidates are running for the 93 seats up for election today. 16 of them are in Ahmedabad's urban areas. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has candidates running in each of the 16 seats this time.
