According to a yearly U.N.-sponsored index released on Monday, Finland was declared the world's happiest nation for the sixth consecutive year, and acts of kindness increased in Ukraine despite the Russian invasion. India came in at number 126 out of a total of 137 nations. The Nordic area, home to 5.5 million people and thousands of lakes and seemingly unending forests, is renowned for its comprehensive welfare system, high level of public trust, and low levels of inequality. Despite the Russian invasion, Ukraine's position this year rose from 98 to 92, although its overall score decreased from 5.084 to 5.071 on a scale of zero to 10. Again, Northern Europe swept the top rankings, with Iceland coming in third and Denmark second. Israel moved up five spots from the previous year to take fourth place.
