Parts of Delhi-NCR, Jammu & Kashmir, and the borders with Afghanistan and Pakistan all experienced earthquake vibrations. The earthquake's magnitude is now being estimated to be 5.8 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), was located 418 kilometres northwest of Jammu and Kashmir's Gulmarg district in the Hindu Kush area of Afghanistan. Preeti Shankar, who lives in a high-rise apartment in Noida on the eastern outskirts of the city, told news agency PTI that the earthquake struck twice at around 9:30 pm. The earthquake occurred at 9:31 p.m., and NCS reports that its depth was 181 km.
