Dream11 has ceased allowing Karnataka users to participate in paid contests on its platform, in order to comply with the state's new online gambling law, which took effect on October 5. The Mumbai-based gaming company, which counts Tiger Global, TCV, and Falcon Edge among its investors, displays an error message claiming that individuals who currently reside in the state or have a bank account there are unable to participate in Dream11's cash contests. They can continue to compete in free-to-play competitions. Users can redeem their wins by authenticating their accounts and submitting a withdrawal request until October 23, 2021, according to a statement on Dream11's website. The company also stated that it is "working with the relevant authorities and resolving this situation."
