According to the weather forecast, Delhi saw its coldest morning of the season on Sunday, with a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius. According to the India Meteorological Department, the highest temperature would likely be around 18 degrees Celsius. According to an IMD forecast advisory issued this morning, minimum temperatures were below normal in numerous regions across Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. It also projected that the national capital would have clear skies on Sunday. On Saturday, Delhi had its first "cold day" of the winter season, with a low of six degrees Celsius. According to the weather department, a "cold day" occurs when the minimum temperature is less than or equal to 10 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is at least 4.5 degrees Celsius below average. On Sunday, Delhi's air quality remained dismal, with the air quality index reading 274 at 9 a.m. Yesterday, the meteorological service projected a cold wave and severe cold wave over northwest India for the next three days, followed by an improvement.
