Delhi reports 22751 new Covid-19 cases

On Sunday, Delhi reported 22,751 new Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths. On Sunday, the overall positivity rating was 23.53 percent. In addition, the city recorded 10,179 Covid recoveries. As of Sunday evening, there were 60,733 active cases in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, said at a press conference on Sunday that if people follow Covid-19 regulations completely, there will be no lockdown in the capital. “We want to impose as few restrictions as possible so that people’s livelihoods are not impacted,” he said. Kejriwal announced earlier today that he has recovered from Covid and is back in the public service. On January 4, the CM had tested positive and had sequestered himself at home. He tweeted, "I am back in your service after recovering from Corona." On the case front, the daily total of Covid-19 cases in Delhi surpassed 20,000 on Saturday, with 20,181 new cases reported in the capital. In addition, there were 11,869 recoveries and seven additional fatalities. Covid-19 has infected at least 750 doctors, as well as hundreds of nurses and paramedics from Delhi's six major hospitals. Meanwhile, as the weekend curfew began on Friday night and continues until 5 a.m. on Monday, police and administrative officials in Delhi have been on the lookout for infractions of Covid-related norms. Due to the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh on Sunday, the curfew has been eased for followers.
