Delhi reports 11,684 new Covid-19 cases

Today, Delhi recorded 11,684 new Covid cases, with the test positivity rate (number of cases discovered per 100 tests) falling to 22% from 28% the day before. In addition, the city reported 38 Covid deaths. The number of infections in the nation's capital has dropped dramatically in recent days. On Monday, the city recorded 12,587 cases, 18,286 cases on Sunday, 20,718 cases on Saturday, and 24,383 cases on Friday. As anticipated by IIT's Sutra model, the third wave of COVID-19, fueled by the Omicron strain, has reached its peak in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, according to Manindra Agrawal, Professor of IIT Kanpur. According to government figures, there are 78,112 active cases in the city, with 63,432 people in home isolation. The rate of recovery is 94.02 percent. In the last 24 hours, 52,002 Covid tests were performed, with 38,849 being RT-PCR tests and 13,153 being antigen tests.
