Delhi records 7498 new Covid-19 cases

Today, Delhi recorded 7,498 new Covid cases, up from 6,028 the day before, and 29 Covid deaths. The percentage of positive cases was 10.59 percent. The number of current cases in the national capital is 38,315. According to the health bulletin, 11,164 patients were discharged in a single day, with less than 15% of Covid beds in hospitals occupied. According to government statistics, 28,733 patients are isolated at home. 70,804 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, with 56,737 being RT-PCR tests and 14,067 being antigen testing. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that the city's limitations, which were imposed in response to the Omicron-driven spike, are likely to be lifted soon. In light of the lowering number of Covid cases, the Delhi administration proposed last week that weekend curfews be lifted in the national capital. The file was sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal's office for clearance, however it was turned down.
