According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi had the warmest day of the season on Thursday, with a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius, five degrees above usual. Throughout the day, the sky was mostly clear. Though the temperature is projected to rise by one or two degrees in the next few days, an IMD official predicts that it will not reach 40 degrees Celsius. “Delhi recorded the warmest day of the season with the maximum temperature reaching 36.1 degrees Celsius. In the coming days, the temperature is expected to rise but it will not touch 40 degrees Celsius as there would be winds,” according to RK Jenamani, a senior scientist at the IMD. Meanwhile, the national capital's minimum temperature was 19.9 degrees Celsius, three degrees above usual.
