On Friday, a Delhi court denied the former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia's request for bail in relation to an ED case. The senior AAP leader had been detained on March 9 by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case involving the now-canceled excise scheme at the University of Texas. After hearing arguments regarding Sisodia's plea, the Rouse Avenue Court earlier put the order on hold. According to the former lawmaker, his custody was no longer necessary for the investigation. However, Special Judge MK Nagpal ruled that the situation did not permit granting him bail.
