Around 6.30 p.m. today, Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall in Gujarat's coast with winds of 50 to 60 kph, according to India's top weather official. According to officials on Wednesday, the state administration has relocated roughly one lakh residents who live close to the coast as a precaution and deployed disaster management teams for rescue and relief efforts.
As Cyclone Biparjoy travels more inland, the wind speed is predicted to reach between 125 and 150 kmph, according to India Meteorological Department Director M Mohapatra.
