The GRAP Stage IV measures may be reassessed after the Air Quality Index in the nation's capital city somewhat improved on Sunday morning after three days in a row in which it remained in the Severe category. The city's overall AQI increased to 331 according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), but it is still considered to be very poor. This morning, there were 331 PM 2.5 and 211 PM 10 concentrations that fell into the very poor and poor categories, respectively. Following a change in wind direction due to the southeasterly, Delhi's AQI dropped back to the "very poor" category, and local wind speeds increased. Prof. Gufran Beig, Founder Project Director, SAFAR, stated that the respite is just temporary. The stubble wind will once more turn from the burning side, he predicted, and the AQI will start to decline starting on the eighth evening.
