On September 19, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake struck Gujarat's Kutch area, but no casualties or property damage were reported, officials said. The tremor struck at 8.38 a.m., with the epicentre 26 kilometres north-northeast (NNE) of Dudhai and a depth of 9.3 kilometres, according to the Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research (ISR). Officials from the Kutch district disaster management unit said there had been no reports of casualties or property damage. Mild tremors are common in Kutch, which is located in a very high seismic zone around 300 kilometres from Ahmedabad. Officials had stated that the district experienced a 4.1 magnitude earthquake on August 21 this year, with the epicentre near Dholavira.
